Cassie Ventura was just 19 when she was first introduced to Sean ‘P Diddy‘ Combs – the man who would go on to impact her life in unimaginably tragic ways, and, whose downfall would be brought upon by her own remarkable bravery.
As Ventura appeared in court for a week of testimony as the prosecutors’ star witness in the Sean Combs trial, she faced her abuser with a power so undeniable, it was hard to fathom just how one person could endure so much, and still be standing. Yet, in spite of it all, she has courageously taken on the burden of bringing the once-powerful Combs, to justice, one devastating truth at a time.
Sitting in the courtroom throughout it all was her husband of five years, Alex Fine, who watched on in support of his wife, day after day. Almost as soon as Ventura was off the stand, her lawyer issued a statement on behalf of her husband, commending his wife’s incredible resilience and shutting down the growing discourse that was attempting to place him at the centre of her story.
“Over the past five days, the world has gotten to witness the strength and bravery of my wife, freeing herself of her past,” Fine’s statement read, per CNN. He detailed his “tremendous pride and overwhelming love for Cass” as well as the “profound anger that she has been subjected to sitting in front of a person who tried to break her. So, to him and all of those who helped him along the way, please know this: You did not. You did not break her spirit nor her smile that lights up every room… You did not break the woman who has made me a better man.”
Directly addressing those who sought to discredit Ventura and label him as his her saviour, Fine continued: “I did not save Cassie, as some have said.”
“To say that is an insult to the years of painful work my wife has done to save herself. Cassie saved Cassie. She alone broke free from abuse, coercion, violence, and threats. She did the work of fighting the demons that only a demon himself could have done to her. All I have done is love her as she has loved me.”

Who Is Alex Fine?
Alex Fine, 32, began his career as a personal trainer in his home town of Lake Orion, Michigan, before moving to Los Angeles to start his own fitness brand, Alex Fine Performance in 2015.
Throughout his career, Fine has worked on film sets and shows like Riverdale and Outer Banks, and trained personal clients such as Mark Wahlberg, Jennifer Aniston and Chase Stokes.
Aside from founding a wellness company called Almost Home, he also transitioned into acting in 2021 with a recurring role as Grady in Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone prequel, 1883. Since then, he’s appeared in American Primeval on Netflix and most recently in Guy Richie’s crime series Mobland, streaming now on Paramount+.
Speaking about the major career shift in an interview with Zero Mag, Fine admitted that to do so required an element of “delusional confidence,” which “I think you need sometimes.”
“I was also given a shot by John Papsidera and Taylor Sheridan, and since I got the chance to play Grady on 1883, I knew no one could tell me anything. My love and passion for it becomes my never fail.”
Outside of his day job, Fine is a huge advocate for various charitable endeavours. He’s worked closely with, and raised money for, organisations such as Compton Cowboys, a group with a mission to to provide a positive outlet for Compton youth through horseback riding and equestrian care, and Haven Homes of Detroit – a nonprofit that provides safe housing for human trafficking victims.
How Did Cassie Ventura & Alex Fine Meet?
The now-married couple first met in a professional capacity after Fine was originally hired as Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ personal trainer in late 2018.
According to People, a source claiming to be close to the now-couple shared how their relationship blossomed once Ventura became a client, too.
“They hit it off, and she started to open up to him,” the source shared in November 2023. “Alex wanted to be with Cassie.”
Gathering the courage to leave Diddy in September 2018, Cassie and Fine announced their relationship to the world in a post later that year, and have been vocal about their love ever since.
When Cassie found out she was pregnant with their first child shortly after they started dating, the happy couple decided to marry in August 2019.
Sharing their love story in a profile with Vogue in 2019, Cassie recalled the night Fine chose to propose. “I knew that Alex was designing a ring, but I honestly wasn’t expecting a super elaborate proposal because we already had the wedding date set, but he planned such a beautiful experience for me. I was so surprised!” revealed Cassie in a profile with Vogue in 2019.
“When he got down on one knee, everything just stopped. I felt like I lost my sense of hearing; I just saw his mouth moving, and he said ‘I want to spend the rest of my life with you.’
How Many Children Do Cassie & Alex Fine Have?
The couple’s first child, Frankie Stone Fine was born on December 9, 2019, a year after the pair first started dating.
Their second daughter, Sunny Cinco Fine, joined the family on March 22, 2021. At the time of Sunny’s birth, Fine shared a touching letter to his personal Instagram, calling his daughters his “purpose.”
“That is my legacy and you two girls are my purpose, I am put on this earth so I can help you shine and have your beautiful lights touch a lot of people. Just holding both of you, I know you are destined for absolutely amazing things and I’m put on this earth to support what you two love doing.”
In February 2025, Cassie and Fine revealed they were expecting their third child, and first boy. The happy news was confirmed after Cassie took to Instagram to wish her love a belated birthday, writing: “You’ve taken care of me and my heart like no other, you’re hands down the best girl dad and I’m SO excited to see you now become a father to OUR SON!”
Has Alex Fine Been Mentioned During The Diddy Trial?
During her second day of testimony, Cassie Ventura alleged that Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs had raped her in 2018 following their breakup.
Ventura was seeing her now-husband when she and Combs had met for a “closure conversation” in Malibu, after which Combs returned to her home, where he allegedly assaulted her.
“I just remember crying and saying ‘no,’ but it was very fast,” she told the court, before continuing.
Fine was present throughout.
