The moment the screen went black on Cynthia Erivo’s breathtaking Defying Gravity rendition in Wicked, we began counting down the hours, minutes for the next installment. Now, we have our first tantalising teaser with the Wicked For Good trailer finally dropping.
Anticipation over the trailer’s release (yes, anticipation over a 2-minute trailer is warranted) has been building in the last day with the cast dropping hints on social media.

The Wicked For Good trailer premiered in cinema screenings across the globe today starting at 8am AEST. Fear not, you don’t need to rush to your nearest theatre to tune in. The full-length clip has since also dropped on the official Instagram account for the Wicked movie.

“There’s no going back” we hear Elphaba say before adding “this is between the wizard and I.”
Our two leads, Elphaba and Glinda, slowly adopt their iconic Wizard Of Oz traits. The former embracing her villainisation and the latter ascending to glistening popularity.
As such, our two best friends are emotionally torn apart and toil over their new places in the world.
Some of the most thrilling highlights, however, lie in what looks to be the wedding of Glinda as our first glimpse of Dorothy and her group – the tin man, the lion and the scarecrow.
Will Dorothy Be In Wicked For Good?
While we did catch a glimpse of Dorothy and her motley crew of friend in the first trailer for Wicked For Good, there’s no indication of whether we’ll see more than these rare glimpses.
In the stage show, Dorothy is not seen but only heard with a voice over. The film may chose to follow suit by only showing certain angles, notably her blue check dress and ruby slippers, rather than give her character a face and focus.

The release date for Wicked: For Good has already been announced and is confirmed for exactly one years time on November 21, 2025
