The Four Seasons may be the most surprisingly delightful show to hit Netflix since Nobody Wants This. A big call, we know, but we said what we said. Clearly we weren’t alone, because immediate outcry for a second season has been met with Netflix confirming fans will be getting a second installment of the show.
If you didn’t binge watch it already, let us give you the TLDR breakdown. The show, which comes from the comedic genius of Tina Fey and 30 Rock writer-producers Lang Fisher and Tracey Wigfield, centres on a friendship group consisting of three couples in their 50s.
Following the friends through the four seasons of the year across four different holidays, we’re taken on the journey of what should be mundane middle-age mediocrity only to discover it’s anything but. There’s all the tropes you’d expect from a show about couple’s in that mid-life crisis era; affairs, parenting and keeping the spark alive. But, it’s the hilarious yet relatable writing and sharp twists had us hooked.
Having burned through the first, we’re eagerly awaiting season two of The Four Seasons, but when will it come and what will it centre on? Scroll on for everything we know so far.

Will There Be A Season 2 Of The Four Seasons?
The Four Seasons was originally created as a limited series, but following its success — jumping to the #1 spot on the streaming site’s most-watched list almost overnight — the show has now been renewed for a season two.
Netflix announced The Four Seasons would return for a second season via Instagram, writing: “Who’s ready for another vacation? THE FOUR SEASONS is coming back for season 2!”
What Would Be The Plot Of The Four Seasons Season 2?
Warning: spoilers ahead…
For an intended limited series, The Four Seasons’ season one finale sure did leave a lot on the table so we’re grateful to be getting a second season. Following the tragic death of Nick (Steve Carrell) we learn in the final moments of the show that his girlfriend Ginny (Erika Henningsen) is pregnant with his child. It’s a huge diversion from the plot of the original film and certainly opens the door for a potential second season.
We’d love to see Ginny lean on the friendship group as she navigates motherhood, grief and a strange new family dynamic with his ex-wife, Anne (Kerri Kenney-Silver).
Online, fans have quickly begun theorising that the series could become an antholoy, similar to that of The White Lotus.
“They should follow the better looking gay friends group Danny and Claude keep talking about for the 2nd season,” one reddit user wrote.
“I thought it ended pretty well. Unless the second season plans on following a whole new set of characters (like white lotus does),” another added.
While it would make for quite the twist, show co-creator Lang Fisher revealed to TV Line that if a season two were to go ahead, they intended on sticking to its original cast.
“We would love to write a Season 2, if they want one,” they said. “We do know that we would bring the core cast back. It wouldn’t be, like, an anthology. We would keep our group because I think that’s what makes the show so great, this particular group. You’d know there would be four trips” and “still the same four seasons.”
Beyond that, the possibilities are endless.
