Dior Announces Jonathan Anderson as New Creative Director

Dior has appointed Jonathan Anderson as Creative Director of the house’s women’s, men’s, and haute couture collections. This marks the first time since Monsieur Dior himself that a single creative director will oversee all three pillars, unifying Dior’s global creative vision under one visionary leader.

Anderson succeeds Italian designer Maria Grazia Chiuri, who joined Dior in 2016 and became a defining force in the brand’s narrative by championing feminism and female creativity throughout her tenure. Chiuri’s final show, the Cruise 2026 collection staged in Rome, which elegantly fused ready-to-wear and haute couture pieces, served as a poignant farewell to her influential era. Her departure was confirmed last Thursday, closing a significant chapter in Dior’s history.

Delphine Arnault, Chairman and CEO of Christian Dior Couture, expressed her enthusiasm for the new appointment: “I am delighted to welcome Jonathan Anderson to lead the women’s and men’s creations of the House. I have followed his career with great interest since he joined the LVMH group over ten years ago. I am convinced he will bring a creative and modern vision inspired by the fabulous story of Monsieur Dior and the codes he created. He will be supported by our teams and incredible Ateliers who will bring his creativity to life.”

Bernard Arnault, Chairman and CEO of LVMH, added: “Jonathan Anderson is one of the greatest creative talents of his generation. His incomparable artistic signature will be a crucial asset in writing the next chapter of the history of the House of Dior.”

Jonathan Anderson, who founded his eponymous label in 2008 and was named Creative Director of Loewe in 2013, joins Dior after a decade of working within the LVMH group. He reflected on the appointment with gratitude: “It is a great honour to join the House of Dior as Creative Director of both women’s and men’s collections. I have always been inspired by the rich history of this House, its depth, and empathy. I look forward to working alongside its legendary Ateliers to craft the next chapter of this incredible story. I would like to express my sincere thanks to Delphine Arnault and Bernard Arnault for their trust and loyalty over the years.”

Anderson’s remit at Dior is extensive – he will be responsible for ten collections per year, spanning men’s, women’s, and haute couture lines, while continuing his work at JW Anderson and the ongoing collaboration with Uniqlo. This ambitious workload positions him as one of the industry’s most prolific designers since Karl Lagerfeld.

Delphine Arnault highlighted Anderson’s proven leadership: “Dior is a very big house with the best ateliers, both in haute couture and ready-to-wear. He will have to work with a very large team, which requires real skill. At Loewe, the team isn’t as large, but he proved he knows how to build and manage teams, bring people together, and choose the right collaborators. It’s a gift.”

Dior has confirmed that Jonathan Anderson will present his first men’s collection for Dior Men Summer 2026 on June 27 in Paris. His debut women’s collection will follow during Paris Fashion Week on October 1, marking a highly anticipated moment in what is set to be a fiercely competitive fashion month, with other major houses like Chanel, Gucci, Balenciaga, Loewe, and Versace also unveiling new creative leadership.

As Dior embarks on this new chapter, the industry watches eagerly to see how Anderson’s unique blend of creativity, cultural intelligence, and commercial savvy will shape the future of one of the world’s most iconic fashion houses.
